SUMMARY:Belted Beauty Survey Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:Belted Beauty Survey Day 2026\nThis year’s Belted Beauty public count will take place on Saturday\, 11th April\, starting at 10:30am. Parking is at Carr Lane Car Park (usually free to park) by Shorefields Caravan Site (SD413571). Last year we had 52 moths during the adult count. The locations of all of the moths were marked using a GPS\, along with habitat variables. This information has been really useful to help understand how the species is using the site. I endeavour to try and do the same this year\, and fingers crossed we will beat last year’s total!\nIf anyone does see any this year outside the public count\, please get as precise a grid reference as you can and let me know/place on iRecord. DESCRIPTION:Potts Corner\, LANCASHIRE. SD 41296 58865 \nOrganiser Ryan Clark \nThe annual survey of the Belted Beauty moth colony will take place on Saturday 13th April\, meeting in the Potts Corner Car Park (SD413571) at 10:30am. Be prepared for cold\, wet\, and windy conditions and waterproof walking boots or wellies are strongly advised. On occasions a charge is levied for parking but is unlikely to exceed £1.  \nThe count has been arranged to avoid the highest tides but the area is still very muddy with some deep\, water-filled channels.
