This year’s Belted Beauty public count will take place on Saturday, 11th April, starting at 10:30am. Parking is at Carr Lane Car Park (usually free to park) by Shorefields Caravan Site (SD413571). Last year we had 52 moths during the adult count. The locations of all of the moths were marked using a GPS, along with habitat variables. This information has been really useful to help understand how the species is using the site. I endeavour to try and do the same this year, and fingers crossed we will beat last year’s total!
If anyone does see any this year outside the public count, please get as precise a grid reference as you can and let me know/place on iRecord. Many thanks!
